Recently,the “report-back meeting of the Lean Six Sigma Projects in 2020” was held by Xingtai Steel, during which the final review report was madeon 27 projects. The projects reviewed in this report present satisfying results. The comprehensive achievement rate of the project objective is 121.73%, generating profit of 21 million yuan.
Through the implementation of the Lean Six Sigma Projects, the relevant indicators had been greatly improved. For example,the grease consumption cost in steel mill reduced from 2.37 million yuan to 1.055 million yuan; oil consumption of per ton of wire rod reduced from 2.83yuan/t to 2.4yuan/t; the cost of refractory material on 50t steel ladle reduced from 33 yuan/t to 27.6 yuan/t; the cost of coking desulfurization and denitration reduced 330.2 thousand yuan every year; Disqualification rate of microstructure of low and middle carbon cold heading steelreducedfrom 23.52% to zero.
Facing with various uncertain factors, each project teams still complete their tasks successfully.The projects have formed more than 80 solidified measures, added or revised 62 document standards, implemented 6 promotion results, formed 4 invention patents,1 new utility patent, and published 4 papers.
With the continuous improvement of the Lean Six Sigma management,the level of project is improved gradually. In October, 2020, The National Quality Benchmark List was publicized by CAQ (China Association for Quality) and only five steel enterprises were selected in it. As the sole representative of Northern steel enterprises, Xingtai Steel got this prize. “innovative managerial experience on implementing the Lean Six Sigma”declared by Xingtai Steel was voted as "The National Quality Benchmark in 2020”. The successful conclusion of the 27 projects marks another great achievement of the Lean Six Sigma management of Xingtai Steel.
