From May 22 to 23, 2025, the 2024 International Quality Innovation Competition Release Conference and Award Ceremony was successfully held in Bangkok, Thailand. On the international stage, Xingtai Iron and Steel won the honor for the industry for the first time: the project "Technological Innovation and Application of High-Strength and Ultra-High Purity Cold Heading Steel for New Energy Vehicles" released by its technical R&D team won the first prize of the competition. It is the first international award obtained by Xinggang and also the first international award won by the steel industry since the launch of the International Quality Innovation Competition.
The International Quality Innovation Competition is the most influential international quality exchange event in the field of quality innovation. It was officially initiated by the Finnish Quality Organization in 2007, with the participation of quality organizations from China, Russia, Sweden, India, Israel, Spain and other countries, and has a history of 18 years. In 2021, at the initiative of the Finnish Quality Organization and with the support of all member organizations, the China Association for Quality has served as the chair of the Roundtable Committee of the International Quality Innovation Competition since 2022. It evaluates based on two dimensions of innovation and quality, as well as five characteristics including novelty, practicality, knowledge, customer orientation and effectiveness, and has now become an important platform for sharing, exchanging, building consensus and gathering synergy.
